Germany is another country without school uniforms. But when their students head overseas on exchange programs, they have to dress in the uniforms of their host schools. Here is a class of Germany exchange students at Korowa Anglican Girls’ School.
All are wearing summer dress and white socks. Their black shoes are a mix of ballet flats and mary janes.
Two trios of schoolgirls. All attend Monivae College, Hamilton. In each trio there is an odd one out. Can you spot her?
Did you check their shoes? All are wearing t-bars, except for the one girl in mary janes, and another girl in elastic strap ballet flats.
Girls at MacRob are allowed to wear black t-bar or laceup shoes with their school uniform, but not other types.

Black lace-up leather school shoes, t-bar sandals may be worn but are not recommended for winter wear. Platform shoes, slip-on shoes or black sneakers are not acceptable
But it doesn’t mean a MacRob girl can’t try on her new platform heels at school.
Or hang out with her ballet flat wearing friend.
